Oscar Lindahl (20) is Swedish-Irish origin, but he was born and raised in Malaga. He is a DJ and producer for record label  Beats4Life. i-Marbella spent 10 minutes with Oscar to find out more about him and his life on the coast.

Where were you educated?

The Swedish School of Fuengirola and later at Aloha College, Marbella.

What type of music do you play?

I play deep soulful house which originated in the U.S in New York & Chicago. I got in to this style after listening and being influenced by artists such a, Dennis Ferrer, Richard Earnshaw, Frankie Knuckles, Jamie Luwis and many more.

In which places/venues do you usually DJ on the coast?

Right now I have a full residency with DJ Vas @ Puro Beach Marbella. lt;/p>

What is your favourite song at the moment?

My favourite song right now would be "The Fountain (original mix) by Phonic Funk ft. An-Tonic"

What would you say is the best and the worst aspect of your job?Why?

The best aspect is that i get to play my set to wide audience and get good response from it, there is no bad aspect about it as long as you are able to dedicate everything to your career.

If you had to choose an another profession what would it be?

I would still work in the music industry but in a different way (running an recordlabel, event organising etc..)

What advice would you give to anyone who wants to become a successful DJ in Costa del Sol?

The most important thing is to find something you like and that you can work with. And be observant on what's happening in the music industry outside the coast, do not focus on the latest hits played in Marbella, but think ahead of that and look what is happening in places such as: New York, Miami, London, Paris and Ibiza.

Do you DJ somewhere else outside Marbella?

Well right now im moving over to London to continue working with the Record-label Beats4life, by doing major events internationally.

Where would be your dream place/venue to play music?

My dream venue to play in is a small club named Djoon In Paris, where some of my favourite artists perform.

Do you have any favourite events in Marbella?

My favourite event in Marbella would have to be the Nikki Beach White Party, which is the perfect event to start the summer season in Marbella.

Describe a few ways that you spend your time here?

Well apart from work I like to relax with friends by the beach or going out and doing something fun. Whenever there is wind in Marbella I go kite-surfing with a good friend of mine.

What do you like the most in Marbella, besides the climate?

What I really like is that you can meet interesting people here from all around the world, which can be good for work and  travelling.

Do you have a favourite area or part of the coast?

I really enjoy to go for walks in the mountains, it gives you a different prospective of Marbella.
