30-08-2010The Vuelta is the most important race after the Giro d'Italia and Tour de France
Mark Cavendish of the HTC Columbia team retained his lead in the 65th edition of the Vuelta de Espana following Sunday's second stage, a 173.7-kilometre ride from Alcala de Guadaira to Marbella.
Yauheni Hutarovich of Belarus claimed the stage win, pipping Cavendish in a sprint finish, but the Briton retains the race leader's jersey that he secured Saturday when HTC Columbia won the opening team time-trial.
